3 Line Tales, Week 6: Government

Below is my submission to 3 Line Tales: Week 6

For full details on the prompt and submission rules, see Only 100 Words.

There is a killer lurking in the shadows, creeping up on your easy conversation and overpriced beverages.

Notorious as this murderer is, the combination of a collective blind eye and ineffectual impotence obfuscate humanity’s ability to see it for what it is.

Don’t look behind you, because it isn’t there… it’s right in front of you, just beyond the windows in those fancy buildings, loading no bullets nor wielding no blade, but merely a pen scribbling simple words such as ‘policy’ and ‘rights’ that shall render you no less dead than their more conspicuous brethren.

Thank you, Sonya, for another wonderful prompt!
